Pre-Conference Workshop

Type A  Place-making and community engagement for exhibits and programs 

Whether they be traveling exhibitions, special projects or programs/events, museums have a special and unique chance to forge vibrant connections with the community and help them discover or deepen the community's sense of place. This workshop will involve activities gleaned from the insights that The Mind Museum and the Science Centre Singapore have cultivated doing projects that deeply involved community. Join this to help you design your community activities for better impact on the people outside your team but also on your own team's way of working.

Type B  Maker workshop 

This will be a tinkering workshop where participants will collaborate to come up with unique work pieces. There will be two experiential activities: one is the "Scribbling Machine," and the other is the "My Design Challenge." Participants will work with materials that will be provided. Join this fun, collaborative, competitive workshop and make connections with other ASPAC members!

Type C  Sci-POP workshop for school  

Sci-POP exhibits are used even in school classes. Sci-POP refers to box-shaped mobile exhibits. We developed and produced 90 different Sci-POP exhibits that can be experienced basic science principles. Over the past four years, we have rented about 750 exhibits for free to 66 institutions, such as science festivals and local science centers. Since last year, we have started to use Sci-POP exhibits for school classes. In this workshop, you will experience how exhibits are used in school classes.
